 EM CPD HOURS
Forensic Engineering Centre (FEC), Faculty of Civil Engineering UTM is delighted to organize the Forensic Civil Engineering Seminar (ForCES’17), on 2nd and 3rd October 2017, at UTM Kuala Lumpur with 12 BEM CPD points. The seminar offers opportunity for practicing engineers, consultants, contractors, facility management professionals, legal professionals, graduating students and other interested parties to gain good understanding and awareness on the field of forensic civil engineering.
ABOUT THE SEMINAR
In this seminar, the compendiums of case studies will be presented by experienced speakers who are practicing engineers and academicians from different areas of forensic civil engineering. This includes failure investigation, related legal issues, assessment, repair, monitoring, and maintenance in:
- Structures, buildings & bridges
- Seismic and Earthquake
- Geotechnical works
WHY THE SEMINAR IS IMPORTANT TO ENGINEERS?
Engineers frequently deal with old/aging infrastructure (e.g. buildings, bridges). These need competency in dealing with issues in structural failure, renovation and maintenance. Furthermore, due to rapid urbanization which consequently causes the occurrence of many failures in construction, civil and structural engineers must remain vigilant on safety, quality, life cycle and sustainability.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Civil engineers, consultants, contractors, fabricators, managers, academicians and graduating students are invited to join the seminar.
